Wolf Gold Review
Wolf Gold is a classic 25-line slot set in the American desert. It has stacked wolf wilds, a money respin with three jackpots, and free spins where the middle reels turn into one giant symbol.
About the game
Wolf Gold is one of the older Pragmatic Play hits, and it still plays well. It's a simple 5×3 game with 25 paylines, but it has three features: the Money Respin, the free spins with giant symbols (the game calls them Blazing Reels) and stacked wilds.
The jackpots are fixed and always visible above the reels: Mini, Major and Mega.
Wolf Gold Features
Money Respin and jackpots
Moon money symbols can land on any reel with a value from 1× to 100× your bet, or show the Mini or Major jackpot. 6 or more moons start the Money Respin.
You get 3 respins. Only moons can land, every new moon stays and resets the respins to 3. When it ends, all values are added up and paid. Fill all 15 spots and you also win the Mega jackpot. In the demo the jackpots are 30× (Mini), 100× (Major) and 1,000× (Mega) your bet.
Free spins with giant symbols
3 scatters on reels 1, 3 and 5 give you 5 free spins. During the round reels 2, 3 and 4 spin together as one giant 3×3 symbol. 3 more scatters add 3 spins, with no limit. The Money Respin can also start during free spins.
Stacked wilds
The wolf is the wild. It lands in stacks and replaces every symbol except the scatter and the moons.
Graphics
The reels sit in a red desert canyon at sunset. The animals look like old-school slot art: a buffalo, an eagle, a horse and a cougar as the high symbols, with A, K, Q and J as the low ones.
How to play
Pick your bet and spin. Wins pay from left to right on 25 lines. Watch for moons for the respin and scatters for the free spins. There's no bonus buy.
Symbols and payouts
The buffalo pays the most, 20× your bet for 5 on a line:
| Symbol | 3 | 4 | 5 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Buffalo | 1× | 10× | 20× |
| Eagle | 0.8× | 6× | 16× |
| Horse | 0.6× | 4× | 12× |
| Cougar | 0.4× | 2× | 8× |
| A | 0.4× | 0.8× | 2× |
| K, Q, J | 0.2× | 0.8× | 2× |
RTP and max win
RTP is 96.00% in the demo, a bit lower than most newer Pragmatic Play games. The game data doesn't state a max win or volatility, so we don't print them. The biggest fixed prize is the 1,000× Mega jackpot.
Wolf Gold Pros and Cons
Strengths
- Three different features
- Fixed jackpots up to 1,000×
- Giant symbols in free spins
- Easy to follow
Limitations
- RTP is only 96.00%
- Only 5 free spins to start
- Looks dated next to newer games
Our Verdict
Wolf Gold is an old favourite for a reason. It doesn't have huge multipliers, but the Money Respin and the giant-symbol free spins keep things interesting, and the jackpots give you a clear goal.
